Four beat walking step - tock-er-tick
-a-
The Two Beat Walking Step with extra, regular beats between the tock and the tick
making the sound tock-er-tick
-a- (1 er & a). All of the walking steps look the same when being danced they just sound different. The extra beats are a heel scuff / dig (heel) for the -er- and a toe tap/ bounce for the -a- (tap). The step can be done with a toe lift or with a slide.
This step can be done going forwards or backwards just like the Two Beat Walking Step, the heels and toe taps stay in the same place, the slide goes forward and the step goes back.
Eight Beat Walking Step
A Four Beat Walking Step plus a low slung Indian with a heel beat on the way forward and a toe beat on the way back. This step feels like two Four Beat Walking Steps on the same leg similar to the feel of doing an Indian between two Two Beat Walking Steps - like a hick-up.
