Getting the Shuffle 4

Combining shuffle steps

Dancers have found many ways to combine steps to suit themselves and the tunes the most useful combination found in Appalachian stepping is the basic sandwich.

Recipe for a basic sandwich.

2 Basics - 4al&2, <&a3<&4

Something clever &5<&66Y7&8

Repeat but do a different clever the bit next time.

Don't bite off more than you can chew.

Alamo Sandwich

Something tricky - <&1<&2&3<&4

1 Alamo (to change feet) - &a5, <&a6, &a7 <& 8

Something tricky - 61&2&3&.4 1 Alamo (to change feet) - &a5, &a6, &a7 A 8

Basic and Alamo sandwich.

2 Basics - &al&2, &a3&4

Tick - tock steps - &5&6&7&8

1 Alamo (to change feet) - &a5, &a6, &a7 A 8

Tick - tock steps - &5&6&7&8

Use singles, basics and Alamos to make your own sandwich, with as many different fillings as you can invent
