Jazz,its Nature, Instruments, Sources, Sounds, Development & Performers,By Leonard Feather Leonard Feather came to New York In 1935 from London, where he was born. He became prominent In American jazz circles through his contributions to Esquire, Down Beat, Metronome, and many other publications. In addition to his more than two hundred jazz compositions, Mr. Feather has toured with his own show, Jazz Club U.S.A., and has Introduced such distinguished jazz personalities as George Shearing. In addition to The Book of Jazz, he is the author of Inside Bebop, The Encyclopedia of Jazz, Inside Jazz, and The Yearbook of Jazz.
