A little girl and little boy I heard in the street one day-
He told her this with a merry laugh, as they both sat there at play:
'Fore long think I'll leave my house, my sister and my Ma,
I'll have a house all by myself, when I get to be a man like Pa;
I'll have a horse and a wagon, too, I'll make Sam Jones feel awful blue;
If he has a wife, why I'll have two, when I get to be a man like Pa.
I'll go out to the club each night and I wont come home till three;
I'll paint the town a fiery red. all the hove I'll take with me;
I'll tell my wife I missed the train, I've heard that told to Ma,
It worked so well, I'll do the same, when I get to be a man like Pa!
I'll spend my money like a flash And always be out on the mash;
In "sassiety " I'll cut a dash, when I get to be a man like Pa.
A typewriter, too, I'm going to have, and as handsome as can be;
I'll pay her fifty dollars a week And take her out with me;
I'll take her out to lunch each day, unknown, of course, to Ma;
I'll treat her better than my wife, when I get to be a man like Pa.
She'll he my darling, be my pet, and what she wants, why, of course. I'll get;
Oh! I'll be a regular blood, you bet, when I get to be a man like Pa.
I'll make a "bluff " I'm worth a mine, when I don't possess a brick;
I'll have a home just like a king's, and I'll furnish it on "tick;"
And when the due bills come around. I II let them worry Ma;
I'll "hang up " every one I know, when I get to be a man like Pa;
I'll move each mouth, And so, you see, I'll have a "cinch " and live rent free;
I'll be as "slick " as I can be, when I get to be a man like I'm.
I'll "play the races " every day on tips that always lose;
I'll be all smiles down at the truck, but come home with the "blues;"
I'll blow my money in on cards, but not one cent on Ma;
I'll pass off as a single man, Alien I get to be a man like Pa;
I'll buy a "place " and buy a "straight " on the horse that always comes in late,
And come home in a happy state, when I get to be a man like Pa.
