Bandbox, Torbay Bandbox is a group of music fans who hope to revive the live music scene for thoughtful, roots-based artists in and around Torbay. What does this mission statement mean in plain english? Well, simply that we want to see good top quality Americana, blues, country and folk acts playing in the Bay. At present that means putting on shows at Chelston Acoustic. We also would like to encourage musically sympathetic, local acts to play support to these artists.

Tutor MC is Ron Rudd who will take everyone, beginners, learners, newcomers through the basics of the contra movements so that anybody can join in from the word go. No need to bring a partner. Changing partners (very important every dance so that you dance with everyone) in contra dancing, is all part of the normal activity. Live music is provided by Meltdown Band to provide the driving rhythmic beat or pulse to enjoy everything at the right tempo, a high energy evening, bring a bottle of water!
