PENITENCE |

2 The Lord is glorious and strong,
Our God is very high; O trust in Him, trust now in Him,
And have security: He shall be to thee like the sea,
And thou shalt surely feel His wind, that bloweth healthily
Thy sicknesses to heal. |
3 The Lord is wonderful and wise,
As all the ages tell; O learn of Him, learn now of Him,
Then with thee it is well. And with His light thou shalt be blest,
Therein to work and live; And He shall be to thee a rest
When evening hours arrive. |

2 See, low before Thy throne of grace, A wretched wanderer mourn; Hast Thou not bid me seek Thy face? Hast Thou not said, " Return? " |
3 And shall my guilty fears prevail, To drive me from Thy feet? O let not this dear refuge fail, This only safe retreat. |
4 O shine on this benighted heart, With beams of mercy shine; And let Thy healing voice impart A taste of joys divine. |
