KINKY-HEADED LOU.
Copyright, 1897, by J. B. Oliver.
Words by Jno E Fay. Music by Jos. B. Oliver.

Last Saturday night, at a swell cake walk,
I met my fate, fo' shore.
In the shape of a kinky-headed yaller gal
A-waltzing 'round the floor;
I was a new coon in the town,
And couldn't be presented to Miss Lou,
So I boldly walks up to that baby and says,
"I choose you, my honey, yes, I do."

Refrain.
O my, I loves that pretty little colored girl.
My love grows every hour,
When I sees her dressed up in her yaller satin,
Just like a great big sunflower;
And when we walks the floor at balls or parties,
We's the envy of them all.
For I'm the swellest coon in all the town,
And Lulu's the belle of the ball.

A big-footed nigger a-standing by,
Who'd brought her to the ball:
He soon had a trusty new razor in his hand,
A-thirsting for my gall;
I puts her hand on my left arm,
While my right arm it swings free,
And when he sees a big six-shooter in my grip.
He thought that he surely didn't know me. -Refrain.

You can bet that I staved there thro' that night,
A-dancing with my Lou:
And gave those burr-headed coons to understand
I'd see them when I'se through;
I've been a dodging ever since
Big coons with razors, anxious for my gore,
But Miss Lou and I am sure to marry right soon.
And we'll never see that town no more.- Refrain.
