A man oft went to see a girl,
He called her his sweet precious pearl.
She did not tell him she was wed,
She'd let him find that out she said.
One night while they were tete-a-tete,
Her husband, who oft stayed out late,
Came home too soon and saw their fun,
And without speaking, fired a gun. [Repeat last 2 lines.]

I to a well-known artist went,
On posing for him I was bent;
