Mothers and sisters said " Good-by," And bade them ne'er to treason bend;
And wives, though with a tearful eye, Said, " Go, our Union's flag defend."
Our noble braves we love and bless ;
We think of them with glowing pride ; Their valor will insure success ;
Their virtues, pure, will e'er abide.
God bless and save our Luzerne boys !
Keep them when on the tented field ; Grant them the purest of all joys ;
In battle's roar from danger shield.
