Why rise on my thoughts, ye free songs of the land,
And her harp's melting tones tempt a fond minstrel's hand
He hush'd, be forgotten! for ne'er o'er the foam
Shall the minstrel with melody welcome me homel
No ! no ! let your echoes still float on the breeze,
And my heart shall be strong for the conquest of seas.

Unto hearts that could blench at this proof of their worth ;
Away! we will bear to a far, foreign sky
A name and a spirit that never shall die !

But my soul's quenchless fire, oh, my country ! is thine.
Pan gyfydyr haul y mae'r byd yn deffroi, O ymafl yn y bore a chofia bob awr:
Fod olzvyn Rhagluntaeth yn troi acyn troi, Y gwir ar i fynyt a'r gait ar i lawr I
Ond taflu y gonest aW diwyd dan droed,
Ni ddavfu hen olwyn Rhagluniaeth erioed.

Os ydwyt gan henaint aHh goryn yn wyn, MaeHh wlad etd*n ifanc a'i bi'aich yn cvyfhau
Os cronnVny bryniau bu dyfroedd ci dawn,
