Recollect again, how a later, less scrupulous, less correct, but more brilliantly gifted writer, Signor Rossini, could combine the bald vocal phrases of Turkish music and the imperious clang and thump of its instruments in the vigorous chorus from his ' Siege de Corinthc.'
Let me digress for a moment.
