3 I did not like my master,
He did not use me well; I formed a resolution Not long with him to dwell.
4 Unknown to my dear parents,
I quickly ran away And steered my course for London; All wretched be that day!
5 A handsome young lady
From Holland was there; She offered me great wages To serve her for one year.
6 Induced by her promises,
I quickly did agree To go and live in Holland, Which proved my destiny.
7 I had not been in Holland
Past months two or three, Before my new mistress Grew very fond of me.
8 She said her gold and her silver,
Her houses and rich land, If I *d consent to marry her, Should be at my command.
