A LITTLE DASH OF DUBLIN
(by Maurice Sigler, Al Goodheart & Al Hoffman)
I met a lovely colleen and she's wonderful
And if you met this lady you would know
Just why I'm happy, why I'm gay
Why I sing a song all day
And why I love this pretty colleen so
There's a little dash of Dublin and a smile that's always bubblin'
And a pair of eyes for ever troublin' me
A familiar trace of Erin seems to light the face she's wearin'
And I'm thinkin' that she's carin' for me.
I found a four leaf shamrock one day
Soon she was in my arms
Now I know the reason they say
Shamrocks are lucky charms
Sure a little dash of Dublin made my heart forget its troublin'
For she promised she'd be doublin' with me
