THE SCALE Writing Exercise Write Tetrachords, starting respectively from the notes given below.

In the preceding work in Scale construction it will have been noted that the Scales seem to overlap. That is to say, the second Tetrachord of one Scale becomes the first Tetrachord of the following Scale. From this fact we derive a principle: Scales having a Tetrachord in common are called Related Scales.
