Auld Lang Syne.
ROBERT BURNS.
SCOTCH.
The melody of "Auld Lang Syne" is very old. It was known under the title of "I feeda lad at Martinmas'.' It is built upon the ancient scale of five tones. The singer will notice that the fourth and seventh tones are absent from the tune. The first verse is also much older than the time of Burns. The second and third verses, howover, are by the great poet.
