Lesson with Quarter and Eighth Notes
To know whether to tremolo a note or detach the notes it is necessary to comprehend the movement of the piece and the character of the phrase. The greater the time value of the notes the better subjects they are for the tremolo. On the contrary the smaller their value the more reason for detaching them. In the following duett which is marked Andanti-no (slow and sedate) play the quarter notes tremolo and the eighth notes single stroke.
