About This Book
This plectrum banjo tutorial book for 5-string banjo written by Paul DeVille is, by todays standards, quite heavy on music theory. It considers the key of A as the “natural” key for the banjo. It also assumes that in the course of training one will shortly be able to play from standard music notation, in which format more than 100 songs are provided for the student to play. It is interesting to note that this approach is quite common in early instruction books an possibly says something about a decline in personal persistence in learning and todays search for instant results with no effort.
